The Best Method Ever Created For Presenting A Live Worm

Twenty years ago my fishing mentor taught me the best method ever devised for presenting a live worm, and in this article I'm going to pass along that method along to you the reader. He was so innovative that he even came up with a name for his method. He called them "gang hooks" and they are, by far, the best way ever devised for presenting a live worm while fishing.

For years anglers have had to deal with the problem of trying to thread a worm onto hook that's entirely too large for their quarry. Either that or they have had to use a hook that's small enough, but then the entire body of the worm is left exposed to the water for the fish to take whenever they feel like it. My mentor solved this dilemma with the creation of the gang hook.

So what is a "gang hook"? A gang hook is simply two hooks tied in tandem. They are usually small hooks as well. The creator of the gang hook always used size 10 or 12 hooks. These may seem quite small, but when you think about it, the all but disappear into the body of the worm, thus making them virtually undetectable to the fish. This, of course, is a very good thing for the fishermen. The angler simply inserts the top hook into the head of the worm and the second hook into the body of the worm. It's a beautiful thing. The worm looks completely natural when rigged with a gang hook. Gang hooks also help with those 'short' striking fish, because now when the strike short, there is a hook there to greet them. This too is a beautiful thing.

So, how do you get a hold of the wonderful "gang hook" that I'm writing about? It's fairly simple. Do a little research on the internet on the Snell knot and you'll be tying your own in no time. If you don't feel like researching anything, you can go somewhere like JRWfishing and buy some. It doesn't really matter how you get them. Make them yourself or buy them, the bottom line is that you must begin using the best method ever created for presenting a live worm??..The gang hook.
